This House

This house is a real fixer upper baby,
This house, this house.
This house needs a little remodeling,
This house, this house.
The paint is peeling and the floorboards are creaking
It could use a little heat
The wiring is frayed and the roof is leaking
But the view from the top can't be beat.

This house, it holds a lot of memories
This house, this house.
This house has a roller-coaster history.
This house, this house.
The cellar's hot and the attic's cold
And the thermostat is jammed.
The windows stick and the doors are drafty,
I think it needs a handyman.
This house.

With a little work and a lot of love
you know I think it can be saved
You can look all you want in those new subdivisions
But give it a shot, the driveway's been repaved.

This house, you know I think the structure's really sound
This house, this house.
This house, I'm sure a homier haven just can't be found
This house, this house.
It's full of charm and there's something about it
You can't put your finger on
So just set yourself down in a front porch rocker
Kick off your shoes, you're finally home in this house.
