Thunder and Lightning

Now you're back in the chair at the same old desk
And you're hoping things will never be the same
But the bag that you packed on your vision quest isn't holding a magic bullet
And there's no easy answer, there's no quick fix,
There's no herbal potion to add to the mix
So you stare at the scene saying "where's the rest?"
And you remember the way it was out west.

She's got thunder and lightning in her hair
She's got the sun on her shoulders
She watches spirits of earth and sky
She hears what nobody's told her.

You sat on a rock and you watched the hawk
There was no television, no radio talk
You drove all alone on a dusty road and you felt cradled in creation
You were a piece of the earth, part of the plan
Just you and God and sky and land
Now the daily grind hits you square in the face
And you wonder, was it just a joke or grace?
(Chorus)

Far away, canyons sing, mountains rise, and everything is clear
Here and now, winds are blowing changes and the compass needle spins.

(Chorus)
